Dutch Bros gift card
balance — checked the right way.
How to actually check your balance, why online reload doesn’t work the way some guides claim, and what to do if you’ve got more than one card. Verified against Dutch Bros’ own support documentation.
If you’ve got a Dutch Bros gift card sitting in a drawer or loaded onto your phone, checking the balance takes under a minute — but there’s a common point of confusion worth clearing up first. Several menu and rewards guides claim you can “reload your Dutch Bros gift card online with your card number and PIN,” but that’s not accurate as of Dutch Bros’ current support documentation. The company explicitly states they aren’t able to load funds onto a gift card through their website. What you can do online is check your balance and purchase a brand-new digital eGift card — reloading an existing card has to happen either in person at a Dutch Bros location, or by transferring the card’s balance into the Dutch Bros app.
That distinction matters because gift cards never expire and carry no service fees for unused balances, so there’s no urgency — but if you’re trying to add funds before a trip or a gift, knowing the actual process saves a frustrating dead end on the website.

How to check your balance
Official website
Visit Dutch Bros’ Gift Card Balance page and enter your card number to see your balance instantly — no login required.
Dutch Bros app
Open the app, tap “More,” then “Gift Cards” → “Load Gift Card,” and enter your number and 6-digit Reg Code (or scan the QR code) to see and transfer your balance.
Ask in-store
Hand your card to any broista — they can scan it and tell you your balance on the spot, especially handy if you’re already ordering.
Adding money to your card
In-store reload works at any location with cash, debit, or credit — just hand your card to the broista and ask them to add funds. There’s no minimum or maximum enforced consistently across all locations, though most online/app reloads run $5–$200 per transaction. Buying a gift card itself doesn’t earn rewards points, but spending from a card that’s been loaded into your app does.
